Read this pre-worlds interview with one of the world's best players,
Honza Weber from Prague!
Hi Honza, we will get right to the business. There are less then 20
days left until Worlds 2008 in Prague. How is your game?
My game is getting better every day. I count on being in good
condition at Worlds, unless I suffer some injury. It's good that I
competed at Euros because it required me to be fully ready before
Worlds and now I am just tunning up my form.
How did you prepare yourself last year, after the "disappointment" at
Worlds in Florida?
My physical and playing preparation was very similar as the last years
because I was pretty satisfied with my skills. Maybe my preparation is
more precise now because of the competition. I have chosen different
music. I've selected a more "comprehensible" song with even more
expressive parts, which will be appreciated and above all impress all
the judges and hopefully there won't be any failures from their side,
like last year in Florida.
What are your objectives at Worlds regarding the results?
Of course I think about getting top place, but it will depend on the
performance of others and many more circumstances...
Do you have a present specialty, a nice combo or trick?
Yes, there are quite a bunch of them. There are some cool things I
showed a few weeks ago at Euros in Montpellier, mostly in Circle Comp,
which I won.
Are you glad to have this year's Worlds in your home town;
"hundred-spiked" Prague?
Certainly, starting with the location. It is much more comfortable
having it here than to deal with the accommodation situations abroad.
More than that, I am positive we will have good conditions for the
freestyle competitions, which I am partially supervising.
Which footbag "celebrities" and friends are you looking forward to meeting?
I saw most of my good friends like Karim Daouk, Sebastien Duchesne,
Ianek Regimbald, and Serge Kaldany at Montpellier. Regarding footbag
"celebrities", I'd like to see Jordan Moir most.
What message would you like to give to the people that are getting
ready to come to Prague?
I would rather give a message to those who are not getting ready to
come. They are making a big mistake, because they don't know what are
they missing?
