Okay, so heres my story of how I got to be in a music video. After a long sleepy winter I received a phone call from my best friend.
His best friend from high school had asked him if I would be interested
in being in a video he was directing.
The next day I hada message on my
phone saying "Hi, this is Corey Creasy and I'm directing a music video
for the band Modest Mouse and I was wondering if you would be
interested in hakcysacking in it."I knew Corey through my best friend
and we went to the same high school. I called him back and made plans
to drive 3 hours to Berkely (San Fransisco) to film. I practiced
several times a week to the song "Invisible" on the album "We Missed
the Boat Before the Ship Even Sank" by the band "Modest Mouse". When I
met up with the directors, Corey and Ian, they showed me their internet
site, "TerriTimely.com", and some other video's they had made together.
We filmed about 7 different scens on Monday from 9am-12midnight. and a
few more on Tuesday all day. I got paid well for the 2 days of work. It
was very interesting to see how different scene changes happen. The
camera and lighting crew was very skilled. Everyone was very patient
and easy to work with. The video was finished by
summer. Modest Mouse finally released the video on YouTube early
October. Modest Mouse is doing a music video for all 14 tracks on their
new album. Track 14 Invisible is the one where I play a business man
who plays footbag unnoticed because I seem invisible to everyone
around. I loved the experience. The pay was good. There are a lot of
funny comments to be read on the video comments on MySpace.com.
