[Tento článek je pouze v anglickém jazyce.] Thank you for having the Slovakian Championships Joso and the Slovak team, I really loved it. There are really promising slovakian young players, three in particular are intermediate players now but will bereally top players over the next couple of years. Petr was actuallythe winner of the Australian prize at this competition. The Australian prize will go to the player who is working the hardest at their footbag when I go to the tournament and it is really such a special prize – you wont beleive it
Circlecontest
There were some great players in this and it was fun to watch. One player in particular was Jindra. He is an up and coming player from CZ and Iwas really impressed when Cod just started to teaching him quantum set – and really, he couldn't do it at all, it was kind of like aweird atomic set – and then after 3 mintues he has already hit quantum butterfly. Then on the other side and then it goes to the quantum mirage and then the quantum OMG i just asked him in the car – he says to me he did a plasma – i didn't even know that was the name of this move ---- so i am really impressed. Jindra is some kind of super player – really – very promising player I hope I will play with him a lot.
Another really promising player is called Michal – he is working so much on his technique and he made the finals of the routine competition. It is really obvious when he plays that he cares so much about his formand his technique. I could tell this immediatly when I saw his game and he is a very nice guy. He speaks great English and helped translate for me a lot actually.
Okay so circle was great – Vasek and Milan did some great runs and it was Cod, myself and those two in the final circle. Cod has this really amazing planted trik with pixie atomic set – you will have to ask him about it. Vasek mainly playes freestyle soccer but its kind of like when you watch soccer on tv for a few years, and then you gosee it in real life.
There was also Shred 30 – but actually there was just one day for this tournament, and we had four events. I think its too many – because I was really tired by the end and there is not as much time for shredding. I was a bit injured so I couldnt play very much anyway –but i can také a rest now.
The organisers did a great job though, and I really relaly loved the tournament. I just dont want to také so long travelling in the future – its good to see slovakia but I travelled friday, played footbag saturday, and then travel all sunday too. But its not so bad, i havent seen these places before and I can look at them in the car.
After the footbag was done for the day I had to have slovakian shower. In the shower there is no light. And there is only cold water. They had soap and i think what i put in my hair was shampoo but I dont know. I was washing the shapoo from my head but the water was so cold that it started to stop feeling in my head. And i realised that people candie in these times. Dexer says that its only because i was the lastone of 20 footbaggers, and the heater was done after so many. But the light didn't work, and this made it really hard to see. I just had to close the door. I didnt want to slip over, so I crawled along wetpuddle of water to the edge of the shower, and then I got to the shower bit. My eyes were adjusting. But the only light came from undernea the the door. . So my head was going more and more numb now.And i could see myself falling onto the concrete and i would be dead.But i stopped the water and dried my hair in the towel which made it better. But the shampoo wasn gone and i would be so stupid if i didn't do it again. I think at that time i realised how vain I can be.Because this was life and death. Like it was actually that cold thati felt as though I was in russia. The shower is so cold that you might collapse, this is a real problem with Communism, it should be revised.
Okayso footbag was pretty good. I only have one more thing to say about the footbag at the tournament, Milan Benda is a really inspiring player. His technique is so strong, he has a beutiful style and he is realy fun to talk to and play footbag with. I am very dissapointed that he lives so far away from Prague. I will kick with him as much as I can.
Afterthe final routines some really strage stuff happened. We went to the after party and Vasek decided that we had to have absinthe. I usuallyhave three beers in Australia and then thats enough – I have these moments here in Europe now, that I realise that there is nothing stopping me from going to the bar. One day I might be an alcholic – i hope not, but now i am living indepedently so its realy difficult to have a controlled life. Absinthe is 80% alcohol and we had two. From then i was totally drunk and i can't remember much except speaking to some random people. When we went back to the house though, it is this empty street, and the old building where we had the tournament, and the whole place was locked. It became a commando adventure, and I think it was something to do with communism, because the building was made in the 70s. First Milan and I werestanding at the front and then I think that there was someting going on but I realy can't remember what was going on, really it was very strange. I was speaking so much bad Czech that night. And I said toCod, “OhCod i'm sorry you cant understand my Czech“. So Vasek says –“It‘s okay we dont understant it either.“ Lol.
Okay then from the side comes little Jinda saying some stuff in Czech. Ididnt understand it at all, honestly I didn't know where Dexter was, but he wasn't answering his phone so I thought maybe he went inside already, and then fell asleep. I didnt think why he would do that at the time. I had no clue actually. Dexter always says “triplethe action double the excitement.“ Like the first time he called mein prague these are the first words he said to me haha. But while he usually says this as a joke – really I had no idea how we were going to get into the communist footbag headquarters so we could go to sleep there. Then I went for a piss, and when I came back Jindra and Milan were jumping over the fence. It was the kind of fence where you are not supposed to climb it – so I was sure that I would die if i tried. Then i did something really stupid about 10 mintues later.
Itried to climb it. But my shoes are too fat. So I took off one shoeand i thought I should throw it over the other side, but if i threwit over and then I chicken to jump the fence then I would only haveone shoe. I remember the exact moment when I thought I would fallback off the fence, but i am Aussie (Australian), so I held on tight.And then I realised that when i jumped on the other side, I wouldjust hit the ground and fall everywhere with no control, which I did.But it was soft grass there. I actually stayed there for a while, itwas pretty good. When i got up again - I started running to ward theside where I heard some hitting sound. Then I tripped over a fewtimes but I got there after a while. Until this time still none ofthe other players had come back from the bar yet. There was supposedto be one player who stayed behind to open the door when we wanted tocome in. But of the 20+ players, not one person stayed.
Sothe whole place is locked. Dexter is commando, so he went around thisside, cimbed in the window, and then I arrived at the window, i seeMilan and Dexter with this 2 meter high metal coat stand – you willnot beleive it - trying to wedge open the door. When i climbed intothe room though Dexter was suddenly taking a piss from the window!I'm really glad he didnt piss on me. I was climbing in the differentside window. I cant tell you how strange this was – like when i sawsnow for the first time since i was 13 i freaked out. I've nevertaken drugs. So Dexter and Milan are attacking ythe door and so muchof the door is frayed and they are getting closer to the lock. I wasjust lying face down on the ground concentrating on breathign. Ididnt actually think they could open the door. Its locked right? So ihad given up and i think that i had decided that I would sleep there.Then they looked like they were getting closer. When it was suddenlyopened I was so happy! Commando Dexter starts running up the stairsand we passed the communist shower, and he tried to open the door tothe footbag room. All this time he says that we have to sleep. So heis really desperate so he screams at the door like bruce willis andhe kicks it really hard. He was just standing in front of the doorand the sound was so loud, i thought it was dynamit. I almost felloff the stairs though, because – and this was the best moment ofthe entire tournament. I say to Dexter, omg Dexter what are we goingto do the door is locked. Dexter runs back to the wall 5 meters fromthe door, from there He just looks at me in the eye and says, 'danthis is not australia'. Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, he runs atthe door and with 1000 horsepower the door lock snaps open CRASH thedoor is open. But we cant stop running now, so we run to the nextdoor – but this one is also locked. We are actually only one doorfrom our room. So then commando Dexter makes a key decision. We goback to the commando door, down past the communist shower –actually i felt like i was one of the losers in the 100meter olympicfinal because i was running behind usain bolt. We reached the roomand went to sleep. Some other players from poland came later – butthen never knew about how exciting this was.
Thenext morning ,we go organised, and i was talkign to Milan about somestupid stuff. But then i smell something so terrible. Vasek is pukinginto a plastic bag – it was about 1 liter of puke he had absincetwice with me then wiskey the n vodka beer yakovica stealing thetrinks from the girls, and at the same time he was trying to kiss thegirls, but none were interested haha. When i saw him puke i startedto puke as well so i ran out of the room and just tried to recoversomewhat.
